Choose a GIF
Drop one file in the picker or select it from your device. GifLoom reads it into browser memory; the file is not uploaded.
Turn a GIF by 90°, 180° or 270°, or mirror it across either axis. Each complete frame stays together, including its animation and transparent areas.
No file uploads. No waiting in a server queue.
Your edited animation will appear here.
The selected transform will be applied to every complete frame.
Download GIFROTATE THE PICTURE, KEEP THE MOTION
A GIF rotation tool changes the orientation of each frame so the animation appears turned on its canvas. A quarter-turn makes a portrait GIF landscape or the other way around. A flip mirrors each frame while keeping the original canvas shape.
GifLoom composes the full image shown at each moment before editing it. Many animations store only a small moving patch, so transforming those patches alone could misplace details or leave trails. The output remains an animated GIF.
Rotation and flipping change where pixels appear; they do not change playback order. To play a GIF from its ending back to its beginning, use reverse animated GIF.

Choose a clockwise or counterclockwise quarter-turn, a half-turn, or a horizontal or vertical flip. The choice applies consistently to every frame.
Check the new canvas, animation and file size. Download the edited GIF when the result looks right.
The tool reconstructs complete frames first, including the visual effect of partial-frame updates and disposal. It then applies the same transform to each frame, preserving the stored delays and loop instruction.
Transparent areas are kept in the re-encoded GIF. The pixel palette may shift slightly, and a new file can be larger than the original. Preview the result before using it.
A 90° or 270° turn swaps width and height so the entire image fits without cropping. A 180° turn or a flip keeps the original dimensions.
Adjust playback with change GIF speed, or resize GIF dimensions after turning it. Reverse animated GIF playback to play it from last to first, or remove one solid GIF background color. All edits happen in your browser.
BEFORE YOU TURN IT
Yes. GifLoom applies the selected transform to every complete frame. The frame delays and loop instruction are retained, though browser playback can vary.
A 90° or 270° turn swaps the canvas width and height. A 180° turn keeps the same dimensions.
Yes. Select a horizontal or vertical flip. The chosen mirror operation is applied to every frame and preserves the canvas shape.
GifLoom retains GIF transparency when re-encoding. Palette colors can shift slightly, so preview the result before downloading.
Not necessarily. Rotating creates a newly encoded GIF, which may be smaller or larger than the original. The displayed byte counts show the actual files.
This tool transforms all frames consistently to preserve the animation. To save one still frame, use the GIF frame extractor.
No. The selected file is decoded and edited in your browser. GIF content and filenames are not sent to GifLoom analytics.
The input and output limit is 50 MB, with up to 1,000 frames, 4 million pixels per frame and 40 million total frame pixels. A job stops after 90 seconds to protect browser resources.
